Google is helping coronavirus cure go round to people who are eligible by showing COVID-19 vaccine locations on its Maps and Search apps.
Google Now Showing COVID-19 Vaccine Locations on Maps and Search
The COVID-19 vaccine is already been rolled-out to people of selected groups. However, something that gives more concern is how to locate where to get this vaccine.
The news was officially released on Google blog stating that it is aiming to ease the process of finding locations that offer the vaccine by showing them on Google Maps and Search.

Over time, there have been different conspiracy theories flying around about the COVID-19 vaccine. In fact, Twitter has decided to remove many of these false claims about the COVID-19 vaccines in a bid to safe many people from misinformation.
Google Maps and Search COVID-19 Vaccines
COVID vaccine remains one of the greatest innovations that give hope to people since the pandemic began globally. The hope to survive is more now that people can get the vaccine. It will be extended to wider groups in the future has more vaccines are produces are shipped.
Google wants to help make locating the vaccine administration centre easier with an upcoming update to Google Maps and Search.
The company CEO, Sundar Pichai through a blog post said, the company plans to help the vaccine roll-out by providing more than $150 million to promote vaccine education and equitable distribution and making it easier to find locally relevant information, including when and where to get the vaccine.
Google will expand vaccine information results on Search to more than 40 countries and in dozens of languages. This way, more people will be able to locate where to get the vaccine administered around. More regions are expected to be added in the coming week to extend the access to the critical information to more communities.
However, Google is already showing vaccine administration centres in Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas on Maps and Search. Hopefully, more states and countries would be added as part of a larger rollout plan for Google’s COVID-19 vaccine information source.
Google reported that the “vaccines near me” keyword has seen more search volume increase, with about five times of the volume since 2021 started. The company, through its the latest initiative will help provide this information to people quicker.

Outside this initiative, Google is also offering $100 million in ad grants for the CDC Foundation, the World Health Organization, and nonprofits worldwide. It plans to invest $50 million in deals with public health agencies in a way to provide underserved communities with vaccine-related content and information.
