TStv started the race with an Internet-based pricing model, GOtv responded with GOtv Max, StarTimes introduced the Pay per view option, and Kwese tv launched with a pay-as-you-watch model.
All this while, we thought DStv was asleep in terms of new offers and packages, but we were wrong. The Nigerian Pay-TV giant was planning a counterattack against its competitors.

Seeing how the Internet-based pricing model —which is pioneered by TStv— was welcomed with open arms by Nigerians, Multichoice, which has Nigeria as the largest market for DSTV and GOTV in Africa, thought it wise to use this same strategy to entice more customers.

Now Africa’s leading pay-tv provider, MultiChoice, in partnership with Telkom, has introduced a free internet-based subscription model to the market, which offers a combined entertainment and Internet service to subscribers at an affordable cost.

Telkom is a wireline and wireless telecommunications provider in South Africa, operating in more than 38 countries across the African continent. According to the advert dubbed ‘DSTV Na Net‘, customers purchasing a full DSTV HD decoder will get a free Mifi-router preloaded with 30GB of Data from Telkom. This is bigger than that of TStv’s 20GB.
