Are you a new user trying to make tweets? In this post, we discussed how to post on Twitter.
The Twitter platform was initially a microblogging website which allowed its users to create short content. These contents are regarded as tweets.
All registered users on Twitter can make tweets and see that of others. In addition, they can also interact with it by reacting, retweeting or leaving their thoughts as comments. If you do not have an account yet, our guide on How to Create a Twitter Account should come in handy.
A retweet is when another user shares a post. However, the original tweet owner can also retweet their post.
Twitter is very popular for trending stories. Immediately you hear a piece of breaking news, you can confirm whether the information is accurate or otherwise directly from the platform.
Aside from breaking news, the platform is also famous for celebrity gossip. At the same time, many use Twitter to find solutions to a problem they currently face. This could be a difficulty in using their banking app or the inability to play a game.
Posting such problems on Twitter helps to know whether they aren’t the only ones facing the issue and for possible solutions to the problem.
Memes are in no way a stranger to Twitter. Many popular either emanates or went viral from the platform.
What Can I Post on Twitter?
On Twitter, you can make tweets such as texts, pictures, gifs or videos. You can combine these varieties in a single tweet and add a link or hashtag.
Your tweet could include any subject/topic as long as its in line with the Twitter community standard.

Posting on Twitter is easy. You can find all the steps required below.
Posting Texts
To add a text-only tweet on Twitter, visit https://twitter.com/ and log in to your account. Select the tweet box on your home feed and enter your texts in the “What’s happening?” field. Twitter allows up to 280 characters in a single tweet.
After typing all your texts, select Tweet to make it public. Your tweet will appear on the news feed of people who follow you and your profile page.
On the Twitter mobile app, tap on the “+” icon on your home feed, then select the “Tweet” button. This takes you to the “What’s happening” page. Type the texts in the “What’s happening” field and select “Tweet” to make it go live.
Posting Photos, Videos and Gifs
To post a video, you can directly import one from your Photos app on mobile or from your computer’s storage.
The process is the same as in the text-only tweet, only that you need to select the media icon while on the composer. This will let you select photos or videos, or gifs as your tweet.
You can also add some texts to the selected media file, add a link and tag friends. Also, note that you can add up to four photos to a tweet. In the case of gifs, only one can be added at a time. However, the number of photos, video lengths and gifs do not affect the text count.
