    • Banks may choose not to sell dollar to you, but you can always get it from BDC operators and deposit in your domiciliary account.

    • Kindly go to your bank and request for a hardware token device to help you complete transfers to Dom accounts. Or, you simply ask from your bank, the procedure involved.

      I use GTBANK Dom account and that first method works fine.

        • You cannot deposit Naira into a domiciliary account. But you can buy a foreign currency from your bank if they sell or from any Bureau Dé Change around you, then proceed to the bank to make a deposit.

    • I don’t know how TransferWise works but if it is similar to PayPal, then you can bypass the restriction using this approach.

    Please any ideas on the standard rate / fees for international transfers from banks abroad directly to Euro Dom accounts (GTBank)

    I noticed that credit alert from the GTbank abroad was short by 51.50 euros they claimed it was from the bank aboard.

    Later it was 31.50 euros the next credit alert.

    Implying that it’s not fixed. I got confused
    It the transfer fee fixed or by percentage ?

    • I hope that you are not been debited for a dollar card if you have one. Since I have been using my domiciliary account, I have never been charged for the transfer fee. Or you might need to check with the bank to know what exactly you are been charged for.

    • I haven’t tried that before. But I have tried moving funds from the domiciliary account to my regular account upon writing my account manager to allow such.

    • You can do well to visit a UBA branch yourself. Also, ensure you ask about the monthly maintenance fee. It’s usually very costly.

    • It depends on the means the person wants to use. Because of the new directive by the Cbn on foreign remittances, there many transfer agencies you can use and recieve your money by providing just your dom account number such as worldremit

    • You can only fund and withdraw from your domiciliary account by direct deposit to the account or by cash transfer to an equivalent account. However, you might be required to get a token to make transfers to/from your account.
