Vodafone Idea, VI network allows customers to port their existing mobile number to its network. This can be done using the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) facility through the online and offline channels made available to serve the purpose. It allows porting for both prepaid and postpaid users.
In fact, if you have enrolled for the service via the online channel, the network operator will deliver the newly ported SIM to your doorstep.
Before you proceed, here are the things to note:
Things to Note Before Porting
Ensure you keep your address and identity proof with you before you begin.
If you have a debt on the SIM, you will need to clear the debt before porting can be possible in the case of a postpaid number.
Also, your prepaid number, if it has an existing balance, will not be carried to the network provider.
How to Port Your Mobile Number to Vodafone Idea Prepaid
Go to the VI MNP webpage and enter your mobile number and PIN code.
Now, scroll down a while to see and choose from the available prepaid and postpaid plans.
After selecting a plan, click on Complete your order. The page will be refreshed with further details.
Fill-in an address to get your new SIM delivered and Proceed to checkout.
Now, the next page is where you enter your payment details. You will be required to make a payment for your selected prepaid plan.
Proceed to make payment by clicking on Pay and wait for payment confirmation.
Wait for the delivery of your SIM by their agents. The agent will request you to generate a Unique Porting Code (UPC) by sending Port as an SMS message alongside your 10-digit mobile number to 1900 from your mobile number.
The UPC will be shown to the agent with the address and proof of identity to validate the process.
Finally, a new SIM will be handed to you and will start working in 48 hours.

Go to the VI webpage to enter your mobile number and PIN code.

Kindly visit a VI Store or any authorised retailer around you and request SIM porting. You can easily locate the VI store around you. Ensure you carry your Id and proof of address when you are visiting the store.
