The Whale release date is scheduled for Friday, December 9th 2022. You can now watch it in the US in the theatres.
Although streaming for the movie isn't allowed yet, the UK audience may be able to watch it in cinemas by 2023.
The Whale premiered on Sunday, September 4th 2022, at the 79th Venice International Film Festival. Interestingly, Brendan's central performance as Charlie has been applauded by many critics.

What is The Whale About?
The Whale is about Charlie character, a 600-pound middle-aged English teacher. He abandoned his family and left them for a man who didn't exist.
This is followed by an attempt to connect with his daughter, Ellie.
The movie was speculated to come with themes related to guilt, regret and reconciliation. Also, the film will bring a heartbreaking experience.
According to The Independent, there was a standing ovation for the movie after it premiered in Venice and brought Brendan to tears.
Brendan Interview with Vanity Fair
Brendan had an interview with Vanity Fair where he explained his role in the movie.
In his words, he said:
“If there's no risk, then why bother? I want to learn from the people I'm working with at this point in my career. I've had such variety, a lot of high highs and low lows, so what I'm keen for, in the second half of my time doing this, is to feel like I'm contributing to the craft and I'm learning from it”.
“This is a prime opportunity. I wanted to disappear into it. My hope was that I would become unrecognizable. I wanted to know what I was capable of”.
